Jet Fuel A1

Jet A-1 is a kerosene-type aviation turbine fuel for civil jet aircraft. Yorkwell Petroleum trades and brokers it against the aviation specification named in the contract.

Why jet fuel is different

Aircraft safety depends on fuel quality, so jet fuel is bought with full quality documentation, and its quality is checked again as it moves through storage and transport.

Jet A-1 and Jet A are close but not the same. Jet A-1 has a lower maximum freezing point, and Jet A is used mainly in the United States.

How a jet fuel trade is handled

  • The buyer names the specification and the delivery point.
  • The product comes with a certificate of quality from its origin.
  • An independent inspector samples and tests at loading and, where the contract says, at discharge.
  • Delivery terms are fixed in the contract.
