# Downstream Operations

## Our role

We do not own or operate refineries. We source [refined products](https://yorkwellpetroleum.com/energy-commodity-trading/) from refiners and suppliers and match them with distributors and end buyers.

A refinery separates crude oil into fractions and upgrades them into finished fuels. Diesel, gasoline and jet fuel leave the refinery to a published standard, and that standard is what a buyer contracts for.

### Does Yorkwell own a refinery?

No. Refined products are sourced from refiners and suppliers.

### Do you supply distributors?

Yes. We match refined products with distributors and end buyers, subject to availability.
