## What a broker does

A broker does not own the cargo. We understand what one party needs, find a counterparty whose offer or requirement fits, and help both sides reach terms they can sign.

The value of a broker is in the match and in the clarity of the negotiation. A requirement that is vague on specification, quantity or timing cannot be matched, so we start by making it precise.

## How a brokered trade comes together

1. Buyer → Yorkwell Petroleum: The buyer sets out the requirement.
2. Yorkwell Petroleum → Seller: We take the requirement to sellers whose product fits.
3. Seller → Yorkwell Petroleum: The seller returns an offer and product documents.
4. Yorkwell Petroleum → Buyer: We present the offer and carry the negotiation.
5. Buyer → Seller: Buyer and seller sign the contract with each other.

In a brokered trade the contract is between buyer and seller.

No. In a brokered trade the buyer and seller contract with each other.

### How are brokerage terms agreed?

Brokerage terms are agreed in writing with the party we act for, before introductions are made.

### What do you need from me?

The product and specification, the quantity, the destination or loading point, and the timing.
